Prior to joining Fund I and Fund II in 2001, Mr. Battin served for a year as the Vice President of Sales and Business Development for HomeServ, LLC, an Atlanta-based angel-funded start-up company that focused on the home services market. In this position, he managed a national sales team, negotiated partner alliances and worked with other senior managers on strategy-related issues. Previous to this role, he joined The Robinson-Humphrey Company in 1998 as an Associate in the Private Capital Group within the corporate finance department. In this role, Mr. Battin was a member of the R-H Capital Partners Fund, a $30 million multi-stage private equity fund that made minority and control investments primarily in the technology, retail and industrial sectors. He was also responsible for raising private capital for technology companies and executing exclusive sale assignments for private companies. Prior to business school, Mr. Battin worked in the corporate finance department in the New York and London offices of Lehman Brothers from 1993 - 1996. In this role, he executed public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and high yield bond offerings.
Mr. Battin currently sits on the Boards of Fund II portfolio companies RTO Software, Seventh Wave Technology and SPI Dynamics, as well as the Board of Fund I portfolio company Best Doctors.
Mr. Battin received his MBA from the Harvard Business School and graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in History.
