Prior to joining Fund I in 1999 a managing partner, Mr. Dunkel was a Wall Street Journal All-Star equity research analyst and investment banker covering the technology markets for sixteen years at The Robinson Humphrey Company. Mr. Dunkel joined Robinson Humphrey in 1983 as a technology research analyst, where for twelve years he covered the information services (transaction processing, software, IT consulting/professional services) and telecommunications (telecommunications services, internet, wireless and media) sectors. He then transferred to the investment banking division in 1995 where as a Managing Director he led the Communications and Information Services practice group. Mr. Dunkel's responsibilities included private capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, financial advisory and public offerings. While at Robinson-Humphrey, he worked on over 100 transactions.
Prior to his employment with Robinson-Humphrey, Mr. Dunkel was Vice President of Finance for Monolithic Components Corporation, a venture capital-financed start-up that manufactured ceramic chip devices. In addition, he held positions as Vice President of Finance for a division of ROLM Corporation and at Ford Aerospace and Communications, where he was an analyst in the Satellite Communications Group.
Mr. Dunkel served on the boards of Alogent, RTO Software and SPI Dynamics. Mr. Dunkel received his MBA from the Harvard Business School and graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. concentrating in economics.
